A dream come true for any boxer today, is to beat a Legend. Legendary Oscar "The Golden Boy" dela Hoya is one of the best boxers ever to grace the boxing arena. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, also known as the "demolisher" of great Mexican boxers, once again won a bout with another great Mexican.
De La Hoya has defeated 17 world champions and has won 10 world titles in 6 different weight classes. His track record includes 39 wins (30 KOs), 6 Losses (including the Pacquaio fight), and no draws; a total of 45 fights.
Pacquiao on the other hand, has a total of 53 fights in his career, with 48 wins (36 KOs), 3 losses and 2 draws.
On Saturday December 6, 2008 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in a so-called Dream Match, De la Hoya threw in the towel before the start of the 9th round. It was officially a technical knockout (TKO).
Pacquiao's next match will be Manchester-born Englishman Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton. It will probably be held in May 2009 at the Wembley in London.
Hatton has had 46 fights, of which 45 are wins (32 KOs) and 1 loss (against Mayweather in December 2007).
Doce Pares is proud of Manny and is hoping that he will progress even more, now that he is a Legend himself. Manny, you have made your country proud!!! Enjoy your upcoming birthday and unta malipay ang imoang pamilya sa pag-uli nimo karong Pasko! (trans: and we hope your family will be happy when you go home this Christmas!)
