NewsDoce Pares in RomaniaFor the first time in Romanian history, Eskrima arrives in the land of Count Dracula.
Ermar Alexander conducted seminars across two days in Timisoara in Transylvania, West of Romania, from 21-24 November 2008. Alex, along with his assistant Diana, were well received by Shotokan Karate and Judo Masters Dan Deac and Doru Cica. The pair was accommodated a the lush four-star Hotel Do Stil Resort and Spa where they were pampered by the wonderful spa facilities and the very friendly staff. The accommodation is highly recommended to anybody who want to visit Timisoara. See www.do-stil.ro for more info about the hotel On 22 November, Alex and Diana, along with some of Doce Pares Hungary's Szilard Zhoner's students, performed a demonstration at the World Union Karate World Cup (www.worldunionkarate.com), attended by competitors from Italy, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, etc. It was a fun-filled and educational weekend as the spectators from the event learned more about Filipino martial arts, while us FMAers learned more about Romanian culture. Mr Dan Deac has been appointed by Grandmaster Danny Guba as the representative for Doce Pares in Romania, while Mr Doru Cica is the Technical Director for Romania. Doce Pares is now going even stronger in Europe! Thanks to Hungarian head Szilard and Romanian heads Dan and Doru.
