NewsPhilippine Independence Day 2009
The 111th Philippine Independence Day Celebration was held on 14 June 2009, Sunday at Lampton Park in Hounslow. General Emilio Aguinaldo declared Philippine Independence on June 12, 1898, in Kawit, Cavite. The team attended the event to promote the Filipino martial art of Eskrima and WEKAF, for it's upcoming tournament towards the end of this year. As always, a lot of interest was shown by the Filipino community. It is not surprising that many Filipinos still refer to our art as Karate, hence education is one of our main goals. From entertainment to barbques to halo-halo and dinuguan. The Philippine Independence Day celebration gave everyone the awareness of the freedom of our motherland.
