

On 22 February 2009 at 4.30pm, a big attendance of Doce Pares instructors and students from around the UK attended the Judging and Refereeing Workshop which was hosted by Grandmaster Danny Guba and 3x World Champion Ermar Alexander.
The event was held in time for the Doce Pares British Championships which will be held on 29 March 2009 in Chatham, Kent.
The aim was to improve the quality of Sport Stickfighting at the judging and refereeing levels. This will also avoid foul play, discrepancies and injury.
There were no changes made at the "Recommendations for the Improvement of Quality of Sport Stickfighting" document which was documented at the previous Judging and Refereeing Workshop last 23 February 2008.
Those in attendance were Nimesh Desai, Keith James, Sardara Singh Khalsa, Ian Forster, Otto Madaras, Tim Moore and many more.
The basis of the rules are that of the existing WEKAF rules which was based on the Doce Pares rules.

The next Judging and Refereeing Workshop will be on 15 March 2009 and is also a free event. Anyone can attend this, whether stickfighter or not, to learn and understand how Sport Stickfighting is conducted.
Only those who have attended Refereeing and Judging Workshops are allowed to Referee and Judge at Doce Pares events.
