Promoting Doce Pares and WEKAF

Taste Asia, Ilford

26 July 2009, Sunday, Valentines Park, Ilford. We were invited by the Taste Asia organisers to take part in the event to represent the Philippines. We worked side by side with the Philippine Generations in promoting Philippine Tourism and culture.

At the festival, there were many other nations that got involved. There were the Malaysians, Indonesians, Borneans, Chinese, Indians and many more. There was lots of good traditional food and goodies that were on sale.

On stage were amazing performers such as the Lion Dancers, Diana Defries the Hula Hooper, the Malaysia Truly Asia cultural performers, singers Tashya and Yuna, even a Mauritius cultural dance, and many more. Of course, we also performed demonstrating the Filipino martial art of eskrima.

It was a great and educational day for everyone.

Taste Asia is held in conjunction with Inspiration Festival 09, a celebration towards 2012. Plenty of exotic food, sports activities, great music and entertainment, arts and crafts and cultural performances. Attractions include Lion Dance, Dhol Drummers, Doce Pares Martial Arts demo, Circus performances, Street Dance, Jugglers, Silent Disco, Art Workshops, Wall Climbing, Have a Go sports session and lots more.
